Frances Tuke is an experienced PR professional, and has worked across the travel and public sectors. As ABTA PR Manager from 2001 – June 2011 she was the first point of contact for journalists for travel trends, travel-related issues and crises.

She was a spokesperson for the organisation, representing travel agents and tour operator members and has had extensive experience in broadcast interviews, including BBC Breakfast, Watchdog, The One Show, GMTV, Sky News, ITV News, BBC News, The Today Programme and Channel 4 amongst others.

She compiled and delivered press office strategy and managed the press office function at the largest overseas UK travel conference – the Travel Convention.

Currently she is working on a freelance basis for ABTA on specific projects including message training for the senior management team, supporting the work of the Destinations and Sustainability team and devising and implementing a PR plan for the Travelife Sustainability System.

Prior to working at ABTA she worked in the press offices for Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital NHS Trust, Mencap and VSO (Voluntary Services Overseas).

She is currently on the editorial advisory board for the Lonely Planet Magazine, was a judge for the Responsible Travel Awards, has been a member of the Travel Convention guidance panel and the Travel Industry Emergency Response Group, managed by Visit Britain.
