Rachel O’ReillyRachel O'reilly

With 17 years’ experience in travel and leisure PR, Rachel is regarded by many journalists and organisations as one of the most creative and knowledgeable professionals in the sector.

Rachel has a track record of success working for some of the leading brands in travel – her experience spans tour operators, travel agencies, hotels, airlines, cruise companies, ferries, travel technology and theme parks.

From generating blanket coverage for Thomson’s Future Holiday Forum to creating awareness and bookings for an exclusive boutique hotel in the Lake District, Rachel is used to working with multinational organisations and small, independently run businesses to develop creative yet practical campaigns which generate results. And within budgets of all shapes and sizes.

Before setting up her own business she was a director of Siren PR responsible for growing and overseeing the travel & leisure division as well as advising clients including National Express and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Before that she was head of communications at TUI UK, parent company of Thomson Holidays, where she was responsible for overseeing all trade, consumer and corporate communications. During her six years at the helm Rachel regularly appeared on television and radio, including BBC Breakfast, GMTV, Sky News, London Tonight, Radio 5 Live and Radio 4 to talk about travel stories on the company’s behalf.

Under Rachel’s management the TUI UK PR team was twice presented with awards from PR Week for its creative strategy and ability to deliver campaigns with excellent results.

Rachel was an associate director at BGB Communications  for seven years before moving in-house.  Her accounts included Disneyland Paris, Inter-Continental Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn, SeaFrance ferries, Cheapflights.com and English Country Cottages.

Rachel’s career started with three years on the local evening paper in her home city of York. Wading through hundreds of press releases each week in search of a few paragraphs of useable copy sharpened her news sense.
